Okay, given that... I had initially allotted a bit extra time for each half of the contest. However, since we tentatively only have 2-3 entries that will need voting, I'm gonna pull one of the extra weeks for voting time and add it to the submissions period.
Submissions will be now open until FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24th, 11:59 PM CST
Voting will run from Saturday, February 25th - Friday, March 10th,. 11:59 PM CST
With winners announced at the previously scheduled time and date. This ought to give our newcomers a little extra time to work with, and help out everybody in general with a little extra time to hammer out those creases. Okiedokie?
And I will update the main post to reflect the new scheduling in 3... 2... 1... |

Still have... 5 whole days and the partial day today to get everything wrapped up and submitted  Caulder, question: So at the end of the story, when the letters end and characters are ready to meet in-person. Is it okay to include 200 words or less of that meeting? Or just stick to the letters? |

They have to meet? Didn’t know that. My guess would be that once they meet it can be dialogue.

Hmm. That's an idea I hadn't really thought of. I'm gonna say keep it written as just the letters for the purposes of the contest. Since that's kind of our core prompt/theme, and a points part of the voting template, let's keep the letter formatting consistent from start to finish. Once the contest is over and the votes are all in though, that would be a really cool way to wrap things up! And as Raven said: no, its not a requirement for your characters to meet up. If that's where the story takes them, then great! But it's not a contest requirement so don't worry, for those of you who maybe didn't move events in that direction. |
