LegendFire Reboot !
From the ashes, a phoenix rises. Welcome to the reboot of LegendFire Critique Community!
We are dedicated to helping you hone your writing craft and to providing you a safe place to practice your writing skills and network with other authors. It is our goal to provide in-depth feedback for writers of all levels of experience. While we welcome hobby-writers, we gear our critiques with the end-goal of publication in mind. If you are looking for a pat on the back for stringing a few words together (good for you!), LegendFire may not be the forum for you.
We are not a critique service. We are all about critique exchange. If you post your work at LF, we expect you to put in the time and effort to critique the work of others. It’s how the system performs at its sharpest. Helping someone else is a great way to help yourself.
To help keep your creativity burning, LF offers prompts and challenges and, on occasion, contests. We’re here for each other with words of encouragement and stories of personal struggles and victories.
OUR HISTORY
LegendFire’s first incarnation flourished from 2008 to 2017 under its original builder Achithyn, then under the management of Raveneye and a fabulous team of moderators. It’s not exaggeration to say that the community was more like family, or that its moderators were seriously dedicated to protecting its members and providing the safest, warmest writing haven out there. We hope to repeat that this time around.
The community actually goes all the way back to 2003 with a forum called Arcane Artistry. It thrived for four years before it was taken down and replaced by another community named PPENN, which lasted a year. The community was then restructured into LegendFire, which proved to be enormously successful. Until. Circumstances beyond our control eventually interfered and, because Raveneye was admittedly unable to change the state of the world, she instead chose to close the community.
The state of the world may have remained the same, but a phoenix cannot remain ashes forever. We are willing to stand up, courageous, and try again.
Like the original LF, the reboot is largely member-driven. All ideas and suggestions are thoroughly discussed between members and staff. Help make this community your own.
