Aaaand Pel gets to be Lucky Number 13. Who else is game? By the way, I have no idea which mythic person ... creature ... thing I will write about. So many choices. All so beautifully conflicted. Guess I'll brainstorm tomorrow and see what sticks. Good luck, everyone! Remember to keep who/what you're writing about under wraps. No spoilers!

Remember: Don't trust the word count in your writing program. Double check with this WORD COUNT TOOL.
MS Word was trying to cheat me. According to the tool, I got to add a few more words, and the tool has the final say.

Good luck, everyone! Remember to keep who/what you're writing about under wraps. No spoilers! I spent a few hours on the weekend looking through various myths and I still don't know what I'm doing. I do have an idea that could be solid, but it doesn't excite me. It doesn't feel like the narrative is far enough from the source material. I might end up writing it, but I want to see if I think of anything else first.

As I understand the challenge, we should not make the identity of our character too obvious, correct? Or does that apply only to the discussions/questions taking place within this forum and not the actual contest?

Or does that apply only to the discussions/questions taking place within this forum and not the actual contest? Your character can be as obvious as you want them to be. So, yes, that instruction applies only to open discussion pre-contest. For anonymity's sake.

I believe I have finished my entry! I'll give it a few days to see what I need to fix, and then I'll submit!

How's everyone doing with their entries? I don't think I like mine, but I'm going with it anyway... 6 DAYS TO WORK ON ENTRIES!

What I hate about this contest is the submission I’m working on has given me another WIP to work on when I’m trying to do vampire #2, which has passed the 20k mark. Which is where book 1 was when a developmental edit was done. I’m ball-parking it for another 25-30k.

A thought occurred to me, since the subject has to be a mythical creature, the POV. has to be the creature, so it has to be 1st person?
