Target Word Counts

Figured this would be a handy guideline to keep us from guessing and agonizing over how many words is too many in the genres we're writing. This guide pertains to novels, obviously. And, yes, there are exceptions that go over or under these word counts. But apparently, these are the word count goals to aim for.
And, yeah, I have to cut sooo much content in my WIP. My historical/literary is currently at 140k and I've just hit the halfway mark. Editing is going to hurt. How about you?
