A poem of mine was accepted for an Anthology “Willow & Thorn: Vellichor”. The poem is Having Fun With Death
Hi Jeffrey,
I'm sorry it took so long to reply - this is absolutely refreshing and I would love to give it a spot in the anthology. I think it's one of my favourite pieces from the submissions so far!
If you're still interested, please fill out the publishing contract attached, and send it back along with an author photo and short bio.
Thanks so much, Juliette

Thanks Raveneye. Several here may remember it from 4-5 years back. It came in second in our poetry contest. When I get a release date I'll let you know. You've all been so supportive in my journey.

Sometimes you don’t get good reviews and with my weakness in certain aspects of writing, this type of comment was bound to happen. For now all my writing is on hold pending the future comments from this gentleman.
***
I'll be sending you more details tonight because it's not feasible to write it all out on my smart phone.
A few things at a glance: -cadence flow - distinction between narration and internal character monolog - telling not showing (I'll elaborate more on this one) - minor punctuation and formatting errors.
All in all the best way I can explain it is reading your book is taking deliberate effort. Almost as if I have to work at it, like reading a user manual.
This is by no means to discourage you. If your goals are being met then, feel free to reply at your discretion. I'm not necessarily here to tell you how to be a better writer, but rather point out my critique, support them and offer a recommendation for you to pick and choose to apply to your style al acarte'

This reader was very kind and gentle in their wording, so that's to be commended. I applaud your courage in sharing it with us. Yeah, these look like the same points I remember mentioning in feedback during beta reads and developmental editing passes on your novels. So ... this honest guy provides a list of things to focus on during next steps. Not a bad thing, despite being a painful thing.

Raveneye, True, seeing the grammatical issues at the bottom of the list was a kind of pyric victory of sorts. I can place this next to the 5’s my first book has received. A review is a form of critique, so it’s that readers opinion about my book, it’s about what he thinks is important in a book.
Readers look for many things, intriguing plot, well developed characters, and perfect rules of writing. Hopefully any review that is left will mention what they liked, or found as strong points. If it’s work to read, I doubt he will of that anything higher than a 2.
