Congrats everyone!
I apologize for having to withdraw. I got too ill and couldn't get the votes in on time. :'( But I really loved reading everyone's entries! We had a strong showing! Thank you to everyone who critiqued my poem - it was helpful!

Wow, really? I really wasn't expecting this, cause I so rarely turn out a decent poem LOL. Thanks all!
And congrats to everyone, podium or otherwise. Y'all really brought out the fire again for this one. Truly lovely and creative entries from everyone. I think this is my favorite theme we've ever done!
(At the risk of being sappy, I'm touched and a bit proud to have done so well in this one. This was an extremely personal poem for me, the sort of thing I'm not often found to speak about or even want to open up about, let alone try to do either. So I appreciate the comments, because it really helps me feel like my wounds and grievances are genuine, and not just...me being me.)

Seriously, when I read it, I was thinking that it was one of my favorite things I've read on the site, along with your story about the girl sacrificing her memories. Then I found out the poem was also you. You're doing some good work. Even if your grievances are you being you, they're also genuine. I think if poetry helps validate the feelings, it's a good thing.
