Of Black and Gold
3:15 - Jules Maison pricks his finger on a burr while engraving Prince Raimon's crown.
3:27 - The late King's advisor Bernard Wilson, né Wingham, confers with Raimon's sibling, Prince Everard, in the library.
4:01 - Jules admitted to Domus Dei, complaining of muscle aches.
4:05 - Crowning ceremony begins.
4:15 - Jules' finger necrotizes around his injury.
4:16 - King Raimon departs the ceremony.
4:48 - The infection spreads to Jules' chest.
5:08 - King Raimon approves the extension of the war against Lord Wingham.
5:15 - Jules' legs start turning black.
5:17 - The coronation party is interrupted by his screaming.
5:25 - King Raimon ends Jules' suffering.

Crown of Madness
Tradition dictated it. The burden of the crown now falls to me to bear.
Such a deceptive thing, this crown. A perfectly polished circlet of rubies inlaid into entwined gold. Wickedness often presents itself in beautiful and enticing ways.
The protective gifts it bestowed were deemed necessary for the kingdom, but power is never free: The curse it passed to its bearers drove many a king and queen to madness.
At my coronation, an anvil has been situated on the floor. A hammer leans next to it.
No longer will our country select sacrificial leaders.
Today, tradition will be broken. |
