Ok so I recently came across this in a facebook group which feels like a foreboding introduction but stick with me here. So, this tool is a map of the entire globe with thousands of green dots all over representating broadcasting radio stations which you can click on to tune in live. I saw it being recommended as a supplemental tool for anyone trying to learn a new language, but I feel like it has way more potential than that. In particular, I think this could be a really awesome resource for people trying to research for writing of all sorts. You could use this to tap into the cultural landscape of almost any area in the entire world, gaining insight on language, dialect, and current events. If you're trying to research for a fic set in another country besides your own, or build a world of diverse cultures for past, present, or future settings, I think this could be a KILLER source of inspiration. Or heck, maybe it'd just be cool to jam out with a totally different culture's pop radio music. I just think this is the coolest thing I've found on the internet in a really long time and I would be so surprised if this wasn't useful for at least someone. Check it out, link below. Radio Garden

Whoa what? This is mind-blowing! Whichever dot is in the circle, it just starts playing what's on the radio there. Stupid easy. Too cool! I was expecting it to be complicated and require all kinds of account/search crap. But it's literally just move the earth around and listen in.
Thanks for sharing this, DB. I'm going to spend way too much time spinning the earth now.
Edit: F--k me runnin'. The station in Dundee, Scotland, and the station in Galway, Ireland are both playing American Country music??? Okay, that's the last thing I expected. And I've never heard Finnish spoken until this very moment. This is too much fun, ya'll.

Oh this is really cool. I don't listen to the radio much but this is great as I love hearing music from other countries. I'm listening to a Japanese station and I actually knew what band was playing as I already listen to loads of Japanese music so that's cool as I usually don't know who is on the radio here in England.

AND THEN I TUNE INTO RADIO IQUOTOS IN THE BRAZILIAN JUNGLE AND HEAR THE F***ING BREXIT ANNOUNCEMENT!
"If you're an EU citizen, you must obtain legal residence to remain in the UK..."
They're getting their programme from the BBC. What a mood killer!
