Thanks Raveneye. So, no story that hasn’t been submitted to an LF contest.

Thanks Raveneye. So, no story that hasn’t been submitted to an LF contest. Correct. We'll group each story/poem according to contest prompt.

Will the poetry contest and non-fiction contest entries be acceptable? Although I’m not sure I’ll submit anything other than the 100 word tales at this point.

Apologies if this question has already been answered in another thread.
I looked up Standard Manuscript Format to refresh myself and found that it requires a fair bit of personal contact info: street address, phone number, email, etc.
How much of that do we honestly need to include in the manuscript file itself? All of it because that's the standard? Or are we handling things differently since there's no money changing hands? I don't want to bog you down with unnecessary contact info. Just looking for some clarification before I submit.

We're not mailing anything, and if I need to contact you about edits or issues, I'll email you through the address you submit with.

And yet another question...!!!! I'm a bit confused (well, a lot actually) about the following instruction:
"embed your paragraph tabs (don't use the Tab button or space bar to begin paragraphs)"
Not sure how I do that. Plus, seems that double spacing is required throughout the entire document and not just between paragraphs. Is that correct? Perhaps an example if one is available would be helpful?

How about send it to me in web format instead. which means single spaced, extra space between paragraphs, rather than with tabs. So just like stories are posted here on the forum. And if it's a poem, format it exactly how you want it to look.

I've added instructions for artwork and photography. We'd love to feature LF's digital artists and photographers too!

Are you hesitant to submit your work to the Compendium? Asking anyone in general.
If so, why? ...
If you're dealing with thoughts like "my work isn't good enough" or "someone's work is better than mine" or "maybe when I learn to write as well as xyz, then I'll participate," know that this is called Imposter Syndrome. When you don't feel qualified, or unworthy, or less than, or your accomplishments don't matter, or like you're a fake or an "imposter" when you compare your skill to someone else's, that's Imposter Syndrome.
It's a LIE!!! It's a THIEF! "Comparison is the thief of joy," said Teddy Roosevelt.
Read more about Imposter Syndrome and vent your struggles with it in THIS POST in Resources.
You have all worked your tails off to practice this challenging craft and to improve and to just find joy in it despite the difficulties involved. You deserve your place in the publication! We want to showcase your writing, whether you've been published before or not. Take pride in the words you've written. You are imaginative, talented, creative, and glorious.

Single space after a period! Ohhhhhhh man. I've got some serious pride swallowing to do for these edits it seems. Apologizing to my word processor in advance for the language it's about to hear

Yeah, double spacing after periods was an old method that helped the typesetter see the full stops better, verses commas. We don't need them now, so they've been phased out. Gosh, I remember back in college we were still required to do two spaces. It was a hard habit to break. I still do two spaces after a colon though. Silly of me.
