Greetings, LegendFirians! You may have noticed some rearrangement to the forum and a sudden deluge of new posts. I have decades of material that I'm planning to share over the next few weeks that will give us a collection of instructional bits for virtually every part of the writing and publishing process.
First, the Book Study Series. I at first thought I'd post these one book at a time, but I realized there may be different folks needing to work on different aspects of their craft. These posts are all coming from my handwritten notes in pages and pages of notebooks. Since I have them all, I am going to go ahead and start the different series in each subforum and I'll add to them as I have time.
Second, the online tools, classes, etc. Eventually I'll make a TOC post in that subforum dividing these into categories. I'll also have a post in each subboard that links the pertinent ones (for example, the Reedsy plot generator we've all been enjoying will be linked in the overall tools list as well as the Plot Development board for easy searching.
BUT, I am not Wonder Woman, and contrary to what I want my children to think, I don't know everything!!! I need contributors. If you aren't sure where to post please PM me, I'll direct you to where things fit so we can keep it all organized.
Particularly I would like to find INFORMATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES relating to:
Can't wait to see what cool things turn up!!!

Particularly I would like to find INFORMATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES relating to:
- Book Formatting (Publishing Guidance Board)
- Cover Design (Publishing Guidance Board) --I actually have a lot of experience with this and formatting but I use professional tools that might not be available to everyone. Teacher perks!!!
- Advertising, Newsletters, etc. (Marketing Strategies Board)
- Submissions, Literary Agencies, etc. (Publishing Guidance Board)
- Genre (Plot Development Board) Especially some of the newer ones that people aren't as familiar with. What makes Steampunk different from Historical, etc.
- Cultural and Legal Information (Setting and Worldbuilding Board) I love the challenge of writing from different perspectives and setting stories in faraway places. However, I've only traveled a few hundred miles from home in three or four directions, so my experience with certain cultures is limited to the people who've come to me.
- Historical information (Setting and Worldbuilding Board) What was it like to live in the roaring 20's? How did they celebrate Thanksgiving in the 1860's when it first became a national holiday?
Can't wait to see what cool things turn up!!!
