Therefore, P&C is a judgement-free zone. Critiques are not permitted here. Please note that critiquing work posted in P&C will earn you a verbal warning. Persisting will result in an official numerical warning that will shine in your profile for all time. (Okay, maybe not for all time, but pretty close.) P&C must be a safe place to post our ugly first drafts and nonsensical writing practice.
For your own protection, please only post excerpts of your work in P&C. Because this forum is viewable by unregistered guests, as a way to showcase the good things LF offers to its members, we discourage you from posting full-length stories, nonfiction, and poems in P&C. When a full-length work is posted in a publicly viewed forum it is considered to be "published" -- which means you will not be able to legally sell first-time, exclusive rights to any magazine, journal, or anthology. Your work would be considered a reprint.
 If you want critiques of the pieces you write for P&C, please post the full-length version in the appropriate feedback forum, all of which are protected from public viewing, then post a link to the full version here in P&C.
Most of the prompts you will encounter in this forum award you with "Honor Points" for completion. Accumulate enough of these and you will earn shiny badges for your signatures. These lovely little prizes are explained in THIS POST.
Feel free to contribute prompts and challenges of your own. A moderator will assign the amount of Honor Points it awards. |

Remind me what those were.  I didn't do very many challenges at the end, so I recall a Weekly badge, but not what the challenge was. |

FoxxGlove & Pelwrath, Raven has been gracious enough to allow me to help curate the P&C forum with new and exciting ideas. I'd love to get a group discussion going in messages to build on some of these ideas you guys are bringing forward. Would it be okay if I include you both in this discussion? This way we don't bog down the forum with the discussion, but also leave some of these ideas up for surprises?

Oh, the rolling 100 weekly challenge that Aubrey posted is pretty much the 100 word contest. I don't think the 100 Word Contest needs to come back now when the contests do but there were some differences. You could add feedback with the contest, there were more honor points given out and it was a monthly thing instead of each week.

There isn't a Contest forum, at least for the moment. I believe the goal is to have a place to start, work with it, and evolve as we grow.  Also, I think there were multiple contests and challenges that were posted frequently, back then. I am happy to welcome you into the private message chain if you wish to contribute some of your ideas. |

Yes, I know there isn't any contests yet, I'm just saying when they do, this weekly challenge could replace the 100 word contest because they are so similar. It seems a bit pointless having a challenge and a contest pretty much the same. That's just me though. Sorry if I sound a bit off and grouchy here, had a weird day. I'm ok though.  |

Oh! it's completely okay! And i see what you mean, when 'contests' pop up we can re-look at the challenges and see what can be applied, and adjust from there. I do believe Contests will pop up, the Admins have a plan for it, they may not be what they were. I don't know yet. *shares a drink* Not a problem, and I hope things get better for you. There is enough negative going around that a little good sharing is always in order. |
