Does anyone remember some of our old games and challenges? If you do, can you please list them below, or just dive in and start posting them in the Games or Challenges forums? I posted the ones I remembered, but that's clearly not very many.

Right before the first version went offline, I was helping Dreaming come up with weekly writing prompts. I'd love to continue that effort on either a weekly or monthly basis in the Challenges forum. What do you think?

Yes. I remember those very well and participated all the time. It would be wonderful if they were reinstated and I already mentioned that to Raveneye. ☺️

Honestly, I remember the Challenges (which I loved because collecting points it's own obsession and personal need to have all the badges.. because badges were awesome to collect), and the Shredder. I felt that was one of the more useful aspects of LF when we were all struggling with short sections of work that just needed to be rebuilt. At least, it was useful when it worked.
//edit//
Though i see that it has been changed to "200 words". Cool, cool. Less badass sounding, but likely more accurate advertising. XD

What about bringing back the 100 word contest? I'm happy to host it again but I don't know if like last time I would have to be a moderator for this Also if I can do we have a poll option as the contest needed polls for voting haha.

Another idea is Indie vs traditional publishing and Conventions as a forum? I don't remember if that was a thing before.

Awesome stuff, guys.
Weekly writing prompts: yes please. I can't remember how it was organized, but it doesn't have to be exactly the same anyway. Please feel free to run with this. Populate the forums with awesomeness. I trust you guys to do it well.
Shredder/200 Words: LOL! You wouldn't believe the complaints I got over the term "Shredder" Lots of newbs, it seemed, were terrified to post their stuff there b/c the name was so intimidating. So I toned it down a bit, hoping to encourage more random newbs to join. However, if there's a huge outcry, a name-change is only a couple of clicks away.
100 Word Contest: I'd like to hold off on contests until our numbers grow a bit. In the announcement I mention the magic number 50 for hosting our first contest. That ought to provide an event plenty of variety and competition, given that likely not all 50 will participate. We are currently (already) over 20 members. So we need to spread the word. Also, given that numbers are actually higher than I thought they'd be in the first couple of days, the mods and I are already discussing plans for the first contest. After that occurs, the 100 Word Contest can commence.
Indie vs Trad Publishing: I can see this as a wonderful, detailed discussion thread in the Resources forum or in Writing Questions.
Conventions: !!! Lovely idea. How many writers actually go to cons? I love them and go whenever I can afford the cost and the time. They are totally worth it. (Nebula rocked!) Do we have enough Con frequenters to merit a forum for discussions and trading nuggets? At this point, my guess is no. But would a thread devoted to Cons suffice for now? (I never did type up all my Nebula notes, even though I told some folks I would. This might provide a kick in the pants.)
So those are my thoughts. Rebuttals? Arguments? Any takers for the projects mentioned so far? Please, go out and populate the forums with lovely things. This is your home. Decorate as you see fit.

Can we have the Template thing back. I felt that it was really useful for the writer to have it so they can tell the readers what they want to be critique I weighed that very issue for quite some time. The reason I decided against the template is because I wanted a more relaxed feel/atmosphere this time around. I felt like forcing folks to use the template as a rule created some "criminals" of otherwise fine people, who we jumped on and embarrassed and sent fleeing. So! If you want to use the template for your own work, by all means. I noticed that someone has chosen to do so, and that's awesome. I do agree that it's annoying when we go to critique a story or poem, and the author leaves us zero instruction on what they're looking for, but in such instances I think it's safe to assume that they don't care what kind of feedback we give them, and any general feedback we have time to provide is what they get. If that's not good enough, then it's on them for not requesting certain feedback. That said, we will probably impose a template on official contest entries.
